“Wan wan coco ful baskit”, simply means to slow down till you reach your goal. And, that is what Jamaica Blue believes in. Located in around eight locations in Dubai now, this café (now an all day breakfast eatery) has surely got what it takes to be the next place to unwind.
The outlet at Hyatt Place is a little too small, but considering its located in a hotel, it mostly serves the in-house guests. We settled right in at the almost empty place and started with dinner, or should I say, breakfast. Our orders came right in; Jamaica Blue Big Breakfast and Wasabi Crumbed Chicken Burger for my guest. These complemented the Jamaica Blue Chilled Lattes.
A little peculiar why a Wasabi-based dish should be on the menu, but hey, we’re not complaining! This was the star that night. The chicken was crispy and went perfectly with the wasabi mayonnaise and the soft bread. Definitely, something I’ll order next time. Oh! And also featured on my list of best burgers in Dubai 😀
Next, we went for their French Toast. There wasn’t chocolate on the menu so we requested for one with chocolate syrup. Pictured here is Caramelised banana with butterscotch sauce and a french toast with chocolate syrup. Sadly, these were not up to the mark and could almost be forgotten.
Later, we headed to the display area where we chose a massive piece of carrot cake and a chocolate cookie to go with our coffees. As expected, the coffees turned out great which is what Jamaica Blue is known for. The cookie too went well with them although the carrot cake ordered was a tad too dry.
If I’m coming back: Not “if”, but definitely should be the word. I loved the coffees served at Jamaica Blue and even if I’m not going for the food, the coffees would be ordered for sure. Another favourite was the Wasabi Crumbed Chicken Burger which just made our day better!
