The Turtle Mocha at Caribou Coffee is made with steamed milk, rich espresso, and caramel with toppings of whipped cream and snickers. Bringing a healthy alternative here, with a few smart substitutes, you can make a version called Turtle Overnight Oats that’s not only healthy but delicious as well!
This simple oatmeal recipe is sure to have you forgetting about the real mocha and grabbing this! The flavor of the nuts shines through the hint of chocolate we add. ‘Cause we like to have everything in moderation of course! For serving purposes, I used a vintage mug that I had but for refrigerating overnight, I find using mason jars easy.

How to make Turtle Overnight Oats:

Turtle Overnight Oats
Ingredients
- 1 cup Low fat or Almond Milk
- 1/2 cup Roasted Oats or the usual ones your preference
- 1-2 Dates pitted
- 1 tsp unsweetened Cocoa Powder
- 1/4 tsp Vanilla extract
- Honey or chocolate syrup to taste
- A few nuts to garnish
Instructions
-
Add a cup of milk and dates to a blender and mix thoroughly. Add in the oats, vanilla extract, a drizzle of honey, cocoa powder and stir well. You can refrigerate this for an hour or more so the oats can mix well with the milk. Or...you can have them directly.
-
Garnish with mixed nuts and a dollop of your choice of topping (ie, honey or chocolate syrup)
Recipe Notes
The number of ingredients will vary with the number of servings. To make this for two people, simply double the amounts mentioned above.
The recipe calls for Almond Milk for which you can find an easy recipe for here. It can also be alternated with cow’s milk if you aren’t too keen on using the former.
Oats are a great way to start your day or can be had as a snack. They fill you up and contain a lot of nutrients. Overnight Oats can be prepared in many ways, all you have to do is change the ingredients and add what you like đ
Do mention how you like your oats in the comments below! My favorite is definitely this Turtle Overnight Oats!
Till then, happy eating! xx
