Restaurants in Dubai leave no stone unturned when they have to find something to be unique about. Khameer and Dough are one of those people. Khameer is a type of Emirati bread with a sweet or savoury stuffing. What Khameer and Dough does, is take this traditional dish to another level. The most highlighted ones being Nutella and the hot stuff in town – Lotus Biscoff. Also, creating quite a rage is the Oman chips and cheese combination, Khameer and Dough offers these in their savoury selection.
I was lucky enough to receive boxes of all flavours so that I can try them one and one and pass my verdict. Firstly, they have six flavours of each – sweet and savoury. Second, they make two sizes of khameers, I prefer the mini ones as they are just too cute and will not leave you overstuffed.
Out of the six sweet flavours, my favourites were Nutella, Lotus Biscoff and Rose. The Oozing Nutella stands true to its name and literally oozes out the chocolate as you take a bite of the khameer. Be aware, it can get real messy!
The “Pretty in Pink” was a delight! The top was garnished with petals which made it look extra cute!
My suggestion would be to heat the sweet khameers for a few seconds to really enjoy the soft bread with the filling inside. Worked quite well for me, you can see the chocolate here!
Coming to the savoury ones, the Cheesy Chips proved the winner! This combination is being appreciated a lot these days. My second favourite was the Batata which was filled with curried potato mix. This reminded me of Indian chaat, which is made of boiled potatoes with mint and tamarind syrup.
To be honest, I liked the sweet ones more as I have a sweet tooth. I would recommend the Rose, Nutella, Lotus Biscoff and Cheesy Chips to anyone trying these. Also, they are quite affordable and offer a dozen for AED 45, which is a real good deal. 😀
