Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi Hotel & Villas – Saadiyat Island

Last Updated on November 5, 2020 by hungryoungwoman

With the weather finally getting a little cooler in the UAE, we took a trip to Abu Dhabi a couple of weekends back to stay at Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi Hotel & Villas at Saadiyat Island.

To say that the property is huge would be an understatement. It is a proper resort type venue with both hotel flats and villas according to your budget and needs. The usual check-in time is 3 PM but since it was still a weekday for us, we checked in at about 7:30 PM on Thursday evening.

The lobby was nothing short of fancy and the check-in process was quite smooth.

Staying at Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi:

We had booked a King Sea View room that was in a shared sort of a villa with a common entrance. The rooms are then located inside with a private room for each. Since our room was about a 5-minute walk, we were provided with a buggy service for our luggage to our room.

The room was spacious containing a king bed with side tables, crib for our 10-month old, separate work table, and chaise lounge. All of this was perfect for our 2-night stay at Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi.

Other amenities included in the room were:

  • Balcony with floor to ceiling glass windows
  • Ceiling fan on the balcony
  • Nespresso coffee machine with a selection of teas on the side
  • WIFI
  • LED TV
  • Minibar
  • Morning newspaper
  • 24-hour room service

There is an open-plan marble bathroom that has dual washbasins and a luxurious stand-alone bathtub. I am one for stand-alone bathtubs and this is just the right one needed to relax on a weekend! We totally loved that there was also a separate walk-in rain shower.

On Friday morning, we opted to have breakfast in the room as we wanted to explore their room service options. We ordered a standard American breakfast with eggs benedict, orange juice, a bowl of bakeries, coffee, and fresh fruit.

We also added some waffles with chocolate to our order ’cause what would a Friday be without chocolate?

Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi Restaurants:

The Park Grill: On the evening of check-in, we dined at The Park Grill also touted as the “grill house” of the hotel. Not wanting to be a typical grill house, Park Grill attempts at a different kind of a menu where we also spot a Vegan Steak.

The LDV Eggplant Steak has celeriac, chestnut, onion, and aged balsamic vinegar and is an approach to give vegetarians and vegans a suitable option when dining at The Park Grill.

Other highlights of the dinner included Cage-Free Soft Egg which was had for starter and Atlantic Seabass with crispy skin.

The dinner ended with a dessert that was prepared in front of us after we had chosen our pick from the dessert trolley. We asked for a Berry Pavlova and Chocolate Financier that came with a slice of chocolate blowtorched on our table.

The Cafe: After an early breakfast on Friday morning, we headed to the Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi brunch which runs from 1-4 PM. The place has vibrant music and is fun-filled while hosting families and large groups.

The buffet-style brunch has multi-cuisine stations featuring Asian, Italian, Arabic, seafood, along with grills and a counter displaying an array of bread and cheese.

My favorite section at any buffet setup is the dessert counter and that was the same too at Park Hyatt Saadiyat Island. I was a sucker for their chocolate pudding and layer cakes that graced the dessert table.

We also headed for breakfast before our check-out from Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi on Saturday. All breakfast staples like fresh juices, fruit, pancakes, and bread were freshly available at their designated counters. The staff also made sure to give our little one special attention by preparing him a bowl of mashed bananas for his breakfast.

Beach House: Friday dinner was at Beach House. Known for serving seafood lovers, Beach House was dimly night that evening hosting a few couples. The best seating is outdoors and that is something I’m looking forward to when it gets cooler in the city.

As for the food, we ordered some battered fried prawns, chicken with kale and barley, and burrata. Like what it’s known for, the prawns were spot on but we felt the chicken dish could have been improved.

Since we had had a heavy brunch, we couldn’t have dessert but looking forward to that next time at Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi Saadiyat!
