For Lazy Days – Paavo’s Pizza

Last Updated on May 9, 2016 by hungryoungwoman

Although I’ve tried Paavo’s Pizza before and didn’t LOVE it, I still seem to be going back. One, there’s a branch just five minutes from my place which makes it an AMAZING option to order in. And two, they allow half and half of different flavours on a pizza making it an immediate favourite of my family with different tastes.

A recent look at the menu and I noticed that they’d introduced quite a few things. Take Chipotle BBQ Chicken Wings (AED 18) and Creamy Garlic Ranch Chicken Pasta (AED 19) for example.

I ordered those and the usual BBQ Chicken Pizza and Meat Paavo (AED 29 [M] and AED 49 [L]). The BBQ Chicken stays my favourite till date out of all the options I’ve tried. They’ve thickened the crust from the previous version which barely held its ingredients, a great improvement I have to say. Creamy ranch sauce with chicken and peppers make this simple pizza more than just comfort food.

Another Ranch-based dish, the pasta had the addition of a subtle garlic flavour with cheese, chicken and herbs that made it almost too good to eat. Sadly, this wasn’t the case for the chicken wings which seemed to lack flavour. Yes, they’re drenched in sauce and looks delectable, but somehow didn’t work for me.

Cons of ordering in, sometimes your food doesn’t exactly arrive like it should. We faced problems with our dessert as it was all over the place. The runny chocolate syrup was a mess on the dough, which left us just eating the frozen, sugar dipped fruits in agony.

If I’m coming back: I’d say a 50-50 per cent chance here. The branches located at accessible areas in Dubai is an advantage, otherwise, the flavours are nothing to write home about.

What’s your favourite pizza place?

Until then, happy eating! xx
