When you’re sent home a surprise cookbook with an invite attached, it obviously peaks your curiosity! That’s just the way Dean and Deluca did it. And I was glad to be invited to a wonderful opening.
Located next to VOX Cinemas at Mall of the Emirates new extension, the interiors were elegant and classic. White and black being the main colours of the restaurant.
The breakfast menu was short and sweet. With many options being egg based. I chose to have the English one while my guest opted for a Triple Fatayer. (Yes, they has Middle Eastern options too) This was washed down with coffee of course. A must for every breakfast.
The Triple Fatayer has multiple choices of which we chose Zaatar, Cheese and Meat. My favourite one being the meat. The dough was soft like it should be. Later, we ended the meal with some pancakes and a slice of Carrot Cake.
I opted for chocolate sauce without raspberry puree in the pancakes. Soft and fluffy, but could do with more mascarpone cream. Yes, the more the better.
Unfortunately, the carrot cake was not to my liking. Too sweet and I could taste caramel. Something I’m not really a fan of.
Since we were up early, the lunch menu wasn’t available. Although the menu boasted some incredible options like Shawarma Sliders. Surely coming back to try them out.
One thing I found odd about the place were the different kitchens. They have one for pizzas, a place where drinks are prepared, and another one as the grill section. While this might facilitate organization, the guests may not always get their dishes on time or together. Which is what happened with me too.
The kind organizers ensured that we guests got our baskets of goodies as we were leaving. This included some lovely eatables.
Thank you so much for hosting guys! Definitely excited to make use of the cookbook!
