Crumble has made quite a name for itself in a short time. For those who don’t know, Crumble is the revamped version of what used to be a cafe by the name of Roti Mum.
Situated next to Sofitel Hotel, the place provides an easy access to those using the metro. The location was relatively simple by car too, and there’s ample parking space right inside the building.
Since we were late (9 PM; the place closes at 10 PM), the server seemed very eager to get us through our meal so she can rush home.
Starting our order, we went for the Salted Caramel Milkshake, Mixed Berries smoothie and a Detox. I loved my milkshake and trust me, you need to order this one!
We then started ordering our mains which consisted of Prawn Tacos, Pulled Beef Sandwich, Wagyu Burger and Spicy Beef. We also tried the truffle parmesan fries as sides.
Let’s start with my favourite. It has to be the Wagyu Burger. This was pretty messy I have to say, but that’s what makes it even better! The beef was done medium well, with loads of melted cheese and smothered on top were caramelised onions and jalapeños. Yum! This certainly has to enter the list of best burgers (Should be coming up soon. Currently working on it)
The Prawn Tacos were something different, haven’t tried those before. They were good, but nothing to rave about. The Pulled Beef Sandwich was also the same story. The bread was a little tough, and the beef difficult to chew.
Coming to the spicy beef, it was comparatively better. The pizza was spicy as mentioned. And maybe, I can see myself ordering this again.
Then came the dessert, by this time our server wanted us to leave. For which, I had to take away one cake and have one at the restaurant. I tried the Fried Oreos which was recommended by almost everyone who had visited Crumble. And my oh my, this was one amazing sweet treat!
The soft dough and the Oreo inside made quite a combination. Served warm, it went perfectly with their vanilla ice cream. (We tried making this at home and succeeded! Recipe coming up soon!)
The one I took home was a slice of chocolate cake, and I’m glad I did, as I could devour it in my pyjamas. The cake was moist and chocolatey. Although it would be hard to finish one on your own, as it’s quite rich. Their portion size is pretty large too.
With a few hits and misses, Crumble certainly has some more working to do. If you’re looking for some place to start your morning meal with, then this would be the place to go. Would love to try some items from their breakfast menu, which looks promising.
