If you have a foodie bucket list, dining at the world’s highest restaurant should be one of them. At.mosphere, Burj Khalifa has long been on my list and I’m glad that we recently checked it off.
At.mosphere Dubai is located on the 122nd and 123rd floor of the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world. I’ve wanted to experience being At The Top since the tickets went on sale but thought why not add it with a chance of actually dining there!
I’ve always wanted to surprise the husband with something that he will remember. And this gave me a really nice opportunity (’cause what can top dining at the tallest restaurant, really?) So, I tell him that we’re having a quick lunch in Downtown Dubai and give him directions from Google Maps. While driving, he slowly noticed that we were heading towards Armani Hotel and thought we had taken a wrong turn. Imagine his surprised face when I ask him to park exactly in front of Burj Khalifa!
The entrance to the restaurant is through the Armani Hotel. So you have your car given for valet parking and enter the hotel. The hostess inside guides you to At.mosphere, Burj Khalifa.
First impression: The restaurant is like any fine dining venue except with a beautiful view of Dubai. This is actually the first time I’m noticing how big The Dubai Mall is! I don’t think I have covered even half of it yet.
The At.mosphere, Dubai dress code is semi-formal and request men to wear collared shirts with sleeves. For women, elegant feminine attire is asked for without beach sandals. Of course, anyone heading to the restaurant at the tallest hotel in the world would want to be decked in their finest clothing! Think about all the pictures you are going to be shooting with the view 😉
Getting back to the topic at hand, we were present to sample their newly launched lunch menu. The At.mosphere menu is simple and precise, focusing on exquisite ingredients and flavors that are interesting.
The restaurant is designed by offering guests a beautiful view of the city. You can either choose a table with a view or groups can decide to be seated at a distance from the windows. Every table is decked with a beautiful Forever Rose that makes the experience romantic. Those wanting to pop the question, take note!
For starters, we asked for the Asparagus with quail egg and truffle [AED 186] and Chicken Terrine which is foie gras with fava beans finished with black truffle [AED 210] The Asparagus immediately became my favorite.
The service is very quick and prompt, checking exactly when we needed our plates replaced. More from the At.mosphere lunch menu were stunning dishes like the pigeon, wild sea bass, and codfish. However, we decided to go with Australian Beef 180 gm comes with foie gras, tapenade, and basil cream [AED 345] and Chicken Supreme served with comte rice, winter vegetable and Albufera sauce [AED 375] Albufera sauce is basically a sauce whose base is prepared with fat, flour, and stock. It is then built with ingredients depending on the dish served. Both dishes are very nice options. The beef was perfectly cooked medium, while the chicken exceptionally went well with the comte rice and sauce present. The portion of the latter was quite filling for my palette.
We’re happily full for dessert, but our server was kind to bring us Chocolate Souffle with chocolate ice cream [AED 168] and Pannacotta with crispy mango and passionfruit jelly topped with lime sorbet [AED 168] Both very nice but easily skippable if you are looking to cut back on the expense.
Just when you think the view at hand couldn’t get better, take a peek from the restaurant’s reception and you will be amazed! The lush blue of the Dubai fountains among the throng of skyscrapers that look like little ants! This is why the view from Burj Khalifa is so widely talked about.
If we’re going back to At.mosphere: I’ve heard raving reviews of At.mosphere breakfast, so a visit during that time is still pending. With service being top notch and record-breaking views, At.mosphere really impresses us! A date idea or a special anniversary to celebrate, visiting At.mosphere Restaurant at Burj Khalifa is a must visit for every visitor or tourist.
