The one thing I missed most during Ramadan was brunching! And, as the Holy month has come to an end, what better way to celebrate than eating out for your favorite meal of the day!
To say that Eggspectation has a huge menu is an understatement. The menu was filled with pages and pages of delicious dishes which made me want to try ALL of them. Sadly, I could only stomach a few.
Eggspectation is located in Jumeirah Beach Residence, not quite hard to find after you know where exactly it is placed. It took me some time and some tanning in the hot sun to finally be welcomed into the airy place!
We were served by a kind server named Michelle (hope I got the spelling right!), who ensured that all our needs were catered to. To beat the heat, my friend and I ordered a freshly squeezed Orange juice and a Cappuccino Freddo. The orange juice tasted just normal, but my drink which was cool and topped with whipped cream was the winner among the two!
Choosing our mains was not an easy task, but we finally settled down for a Bacon n’ Eggs Benedict and the famous Bbq Burger. While waiting for our main course, we were served freshly baked warm bread with jam. This really helped as I was quite hungry. About 10 minutes later, and this is good as there were a lot of guests at the time, we were served our order. My first thought looking at them was that the portions are huge!
My plate contained a beautiful eggs Benedict; an English muffin with beef bacon, topped with two poached eggs. Served on the side were Lyonnaise-style potatoes. There isn’t much to say about the eggs here it was just done right. What I loved were sides. The potatoes were delicious! You could just eat them without realizing how much you’ve had. 😀
Coming to the Bbq Burger. This was the STAR! And I mean it. A perfect cheat meal. A perfect burger you should order when you feel like you could do with some meat and a whole lot of cheese! Served on the side was a scrambled egg as requested by us. This meal deserves a 10 on 10.
Heck, make it 20 on 10!
A meal is never complete until you’ve had something sweet to eat. So, we ordered their recommended S’mores French Toast and I wasn’t disappointed. A warm brioche stuffed with Nutella and marshmallows. This sure reminded me of the endless amount of exercising my body needs!
After serving ourselves to our gluttony desires, we decided to see ourselves out. One word to describe Eggspectation would be – Perfect. Everything here was simple, but great. The service was spot on. Not great for people seeking quietness, but it sure is a place filled with vibrant chatter!
Disclaimer: Though I was invited to Eggspectation to sample their new menu, my personal opinions remain unbiased.
