Brunch at Qureshi’s

I was invited to a Fridays brunch with family at Qureshi’s. It is located in the Country Club Hotel, Mankhool, Dubai. Since we were a bit late, we had to wait for a while. We were then ushered to a table by the manager, who made sure we were satisfied. The staff is very helpful and kept assisting us all through the afternoon. We were then taken to the buffet area. The starters were delicious, and we were spoilt for choice. I filled my plate with potato croquettes, mini sausages, and vegetable pizza. They also had different types of cheese with crackers, cold meat, Hakka noodles and chicken kebabs. They served different types of salads as well. One of my favorites was the beetroot salad with green vegetables. Makes for a healthy and tasty dish to have.

Moving on to the main course, Country Club Hotel served Indian cuisine, and also tried to incorporate dishes such as the Shepherd’s Pie and Baked Pumpkin Crumble. The best dishes of the meal were the Oven Roasted Lemon Garlic Fish, Palak Paneer, and the Baked Pumpkin Crumble.

The fish was softly cooked in a sauce with lemon and garlic. One could taste both the lemon and garlic, but they were not overpowering, the fish was the star of the dish!

The paneer (cottage cheese), on the other hand, was soft (unlike hard and chewy in some places). The palak gravy was warm and buttery, which made it delicious and mouth watering.

It was very nice to see a substitute of the shepherd’s pie here. Something for the veggies to have! The pumpkin crumble was topped with a layer of cooked potato and a layer of cooked pumpkin underneath. I’m not usually a fan of the vegetable (pumpkin) as such, but this dish was quite nice to have.

I was extremely happy to see a live station that lets you order any kind of dish and have it in front of you within five minutes or so. There were options like vegetables, shrimps, and prawns, fish, chicken and beef. We asked for a Mongolian seafood and were not disappointed. It was so popular around the table, that we had to ask for around 3 plates of this!

Coming to the desserts, my favorite part of the meal! There was a variety here, which made it difficult to have, considering the amount I had already consumed!

I love chocolate fountains! There’s still a kiddish part of me that smiles with delight at the sight of it. And if you have marshmallows to go with it, what more can one ask for? There were Indian sweets like the usual Umm Ali and Gulaab Jamun. Also, there were Arabic sweets, mousse, and different types of cakes.

Overall, I was satisfied with my meal. A good place to go with family or friends. If you’re looking for hardcore Indian food, Qureshi’s has a wonderful dinner menu which is priced quite reasonably. They also invite singers to lend their voice to ghazals and old tunes. Something to look forward to while enjoying a nice meal with family. πŸ™‚
